Breath Work

As we enter into our fourth week of quarantine or cocooning, I’d like to ask you how are you breathing?

Are you filling up your lungs with air regularly each day?
Can you fill your lungs up with air or are you stuck in fear and anxiety?
Can you move out of that fear and breath not only into your lungs but into your tummy and torso?

During this Conversations with Calm Therapy interview, I find out from Dawn Wilson why the way we breathe is so important for our mental and physical health.

Staying Connected

Firstly,  I hope you are all safe and healthy.

What can I say…the world is a different place.  The Covid-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it.

We are now in lockdown and are very aware about social distancing.
For me, this feels a hard concept to grasp.  It is very necessary, but we need human contact to survive and thrive.

So I have found myself in a new role of bringing people together online.

I have created a Youtube channel called Conversations with Calm Therapy.

I have been interviewing Complementary Therapists and Business Advisors.

This keeps us as business owners connected and present online.
It also offers you, the viewer ways to cope with sudden change, release ourselves from fear and how to move forward.  I also ask each guest to suggest any useful activities we can do whilst we are in lockdown.

So far I have interviewed:

Parenting consultant & Family Relationship Coach
Breath Work Facilitator
Business Strategist
Stress Management & Laughter Specialist
Business Mentor
Shamanic Healer & Story Teller

and there are more to come….

This is useful information service for you.  Each guest answers 3 set questions from their area of expertise.  I hope they will help if you are facing difficulties during time this time of change.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel to see latest videos to inspire you.

Stay healthy everyone.

Sleep Is The Best Remedy

March is National Bed Month.  This is the perfect time to become more aware about your sleep patterns and discover how they can affect your health and wellbeing.

In my opinion, sleep IS the best remedy.  My children hear this all the time.  When ever one of them pipes up that they don’t feel well, I simply tell them they need to sleep!

Benefits of a good nights sleep include:

  • Improved memory.
  • Reduced risk of heart disease and other life threatening illnesses.
  • Lowers your stress levels.
  • Improves your mental health and reduces the chance of depression.
  • Your body is repairing itself while you sleep.

If you are having trouble sleeping, try some of these tips.

  • Switch off all technology two hours before you go to bed.
  • Notice what you eat and try to eat a lighter meal before 6pm.
  • Notice your breathing.  Try regular, gentle breaths to calm your system.
  • Book yourself in for some Calm Therapy Reflexology for a deep sense of relaxation.

For more information about your sleep patterns visit the Sleep Council website.

Jane has been a Reflexologist for 15 years and is experienced with helping people with stress and anxiety.  She also works with Maternity clients.
